Review: Silence of the Lambs comes with some much needed recognition for the horror genre. It is a first class production all around. It is a fun and exciting screenplay is based on Thomas Harris' novel, full of great lines. It is a fantastic way Demme. Demme creates tension very thoroughly and use some good shots of the director as twin frames Clarice rings the doorbell and FBI men breaking into a home. The two lead actors won Oscars for their performances ... Each earned. Foster is a very good role, but it is Anthony Hopkins, who literally lights up the screen in his complex portrayal of a complex serial killer. Hopkins makes the seemingly impossible. He scares you with its frustrating and yet illicts little pity / compassion (but not much) to his situation. He says the lines aloofness, if necessary, and, if necessary, brashness. The rest of the cast is also quite good standout Anthony Heald as unethical, petty doctor in charge of Hopkins. Of course, the story of the second murderer a very scary too. The film everything! |
