Review: What is most fascinating about this film is that raunchy rom-com from the female perspective. Knowing that the film was written by a woman before I did see the nuances leap out of me. The nuances and perspectives that make the film enjoyable. No scene or moment deserves more than a small laugh, but the characters themselves grow and grow and really develops. Hard to think of ways in the first place, because there is no installation or virtual character creation. Then they grow kind of you, but it really rang true for me, in any sense in the real world. Natalie Portman is great as many expected, but Ashton Kutcher did a good job too. I have seen others criticize your performance, but I think based on predetermined his hatred instead of in their work. The characters were very weak and useless, except for the character played by Kevin Kline wonderful father. Overall, better than I expected it to be. |
